Charlemagne
Wine Club - 2007 Tastings
|
Monday 15th September 2007 Rhone Rangers presented by Lena Inger Since their ancient beginnings in the Roman era, the grape varieties of the Rhône valley have spread through the fanatical enthusiasm of modern winemakers to all parts of the vinous world. From its recent origins in California, championed by Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon, the movement has swept the New World. Lena Inger will introduce us to some of these producers, the so called "Rhône Rangers" with a selection of some of her favourite Rhône and Rhône style wines. Lena is a regular presenter at Charlemagne. She began teaching people about wine in 1982, and is very happy to be able to say that she still enjoys it. As well as leading tutored tastings, Lena is a judge at the International Wine Challenge, and particularly enjoys acting as a guide for wine tours in Europe. |
