Charlemagne Wine Club - 2016 Tastings

20th June 2016

New Zealand: The Inside Story with Brett Jones

Next Monday, 20th June, the Club is transported to New Zealand with Brett Jones, the Wine Maestro.
New Zealand has progressed a long way since the first wave of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc reached our shores. Cloudy Bay has faded, to be replaced by more ‘boutique’ producers offering exciting new takes on aromatic white grape varieties.
Central Otago has become a world class region for Pinot Noir, and Hawkes Bay, especially the Gimblett Gravels as we tasted recently, produces richly textured reds from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Brett spent a large part of the last year in the Land of the Long White Cloud, exploring the wine regions, meeting the people and immersing himself in the culture.
Join us upstairs at The Forester, at 8pm, to be regaled by stories of the people, the places and the wines he discovered.
